BOCHK posts the strongest results in 1H13
And DBS HK beat other international banks.
According to Bernstein Research, there was no clear winner in terms of the HK banks' H1 2013 earnings performance but it views BOC(HK) as having posted the strongest results during the half. While the performance of DBS HK was the best among the international/regional banks, the underlying metrics favored BOC(HK).
Here's more from Bernstein:
BOC(HK) reported a strong 10bp increase to NIMs and topped peers with 23% HoH increase in fee income. Excluding its weak trading result in H1 '13, BOC(HK) would have reported a best-in-class 25% HoH revenue growth.
In our opinion, there was no clear loser. While Dah Sing, BEA and Wing Hang's results were weaker than their peers, none of three stood out as being the worst performer in H1.
