Indonesia's House of Representatives to look further into Citibank incidents
Indonesia's House of Representatives will inquire further into the death of a Citibank client, Irzen Octa.
Another hearing with representatives from Citibank and the central bank is set.
Irzen, also secretary-general of the National Unity Party, was found dead last week on the fifth floor of Menara Jamsostek in South Jakarta, where the bank’s branch office is located. Police have arrested four suspects, including three debt collectors, in the case.
The hearing will also inquire into the alleged embezzlement case implicating a Citibank manager.
Malinda Dee, a relationship manager at one of the bank’s branches, was recently arrested for allegedly embezzling at least Rp 17 billion of her clients’ money.
