Bank TPN's net income up 57.4%

Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional's net income increased by 57.4 percent to Rp 921 billion or $98 billion in the January-June period.

This is due to strong loan growth in pensions.

The bank’s finance director, Arief Harris Tandjung, said that in the first six months of the year, BTPN’s outstanding loans grew 28.3 percent year-on-year to Rp 34.4 trillion. The figure was Rp 26.8 trillion in the same period last year.

The bank was committed to expanding its Daya program, an effort by BTPN to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship and community interaction among its customers, according to Tandjung.

In the first half of this year, customers’ money in savings accounts, demand deposits and time deposits grew 36 percent year-on-year to Rp 40 trillion, Arief said.

Loan quality has also improved, with non-performing loans falling to 0.7 percent of total outstanding loans from 1 percent, he said .

Anika Faisal, compliance director at BPTN, said the bank now had more than 1.2 million customers in Indonesia and more than 1,200 branch offices.

What is Lorem Ipsum?
What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
