ICICI to focus on beefing up home loans

Bank joins bandwagon on profiting from the recovery of realty sector with a promo.

ICICI Bank's Managing Director and CEO Chanda Kochhar said the bank is "focusing on the home-loan segment at the moment as there is a lot of activity in this sector (home) ... people who stopped buying a few months ago, are back again."

In order to compete with the country’s leading banks, ICICI has been offering fixed rate of 8.25 percent in the first two years and floating rates thereafter, according to a report in Rupee Times.

The promo is valid between December 1, 2009 and January 31, 2010.
