Metrobank’s local ATMs now over a thousand
Metrobank added 25 new automated teller machines in key areas to increase its network to over a thousand ATMs nationwide.
Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. installed ten new ATMs within Metro Manila, eight in Luzon, five in Visayas, and two in Mindanao. Among these, 23 are off-site ATMs that will provide customers with secure and convenient access to their basic banking needs outside a branch.
"These new ATMs rolled-out nationwide increases accessibility and coverage to the benefit of our customers," said Metrobank director and national branch banking sector head Fabian S. Dee.
"The expansion is also one of the bank's initiatives to improve operational efficiency, especially in the areas of optimising delivery channels to our customers," Dee added.
In its 2008 report, the bank attributed its deposit growth in its increasing number of ATMs.
Metrobank gives its depositors the widest access to over 9,000 BancNet ATMs—the largest ATM consortium in the country, and enables inter-bank fund transfer to a BancNet member bank.
Abroad, Metrobank ATM cardholders can use their cards to withdraw cash at any of the over 1 million Cirrus-Maestro (Mastercard) ATMs in more than 21 countries.
