Metrobank named Asia’s most trustworthy
Metrobank topped Bank Category of the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands award based on an Asia-wide survey by Nielsen Research.
According to the survey, a Trusted Brand bank must have a proven track record of consistent performance, good governance and sound business practices. "Metrobank has a conservative outlook, solid financial foundation and the expertise to take care of its customers' financial needs," said Fabian S. Dee, executive vice president and head of the national branch banking sector at Metrobank.
"We are present wherever our customers need us. Metrobank is one of the few Philippine banks with a substantial network of international branches in 21 countries," Dee added. "Metrobank continues to leverage on its healthy balance sheet, strong capital position, and good deposit mix to sustain growth and provide a safe haven amidst a difficult economy."
For topping the survey, Metrobank was once again accorded prestigious Reader’s Digest Gold Trusted Brand award in the Bank category for the sixth consecutive year. Metrobank also garnered a Gold Trusted Brand award in the investment fund category.
Trusted Brands in the investment fund industry are measured by their ability to grow their business by offering clients a range of options suitable for weathering economic volatility.
"Investors are going back to stable money market funds or returning to traditional investments like bank time deposits or central bank deposit accounts," said Josefina E. Sulit, executive vice president and head of Metrobank trust banking group.
"We make sure that our products and services keep up and match the requirements of different investors," she added.
